90 th

Nineties, the end of Soviet Union era,
Everything is closed in our city.
Lines only in unemployment office,
New, fresh paint on the walls,
My aunt and uncle are waiting in line.
And lines in supermarkets on days
When food arrives, mostly milk and bread.
Every factory is closed, people loosing jobs.
Streets are dirty, no lights after ten,
No water at night, we have to fill bath tab every night.
No lights in the apartments, city is saving energy.
Only schools, police and hospital are open,
Like everywhere else no salaries for two, three months ether.
For a week no school,  teachers are protesting,
Together with people who work on mines,
It's on TV  every day.
All food, necessary items are sold by number with number on paper or hand.
Protests in big cities,
We are going for new country.
At the same time,
How happy we are.
Music, best songs written at this time.
Girls, pop singers, our role models.
