In 1941 one young girl Anna from my grandmother's village signed up to be a nurse in Soviet Army. Anna was very brave, she believed she will help the victory and would return home after the war.
But the war was not what Anna expected. After two weeks of training she was a nurse in a real battle.
Everything was dark from the smoke and explosions. Very soon Anna stopped thinking about anything than pulling injured soldiers to a small medical station.
She did not know what day it was, did not know the time. She did not know if she was still alive or not. She looked up and crawled, sometimes she would wipe her face and look at the sky.
Anna noticed a fallen soldier, he was not moving and Anna would just crawl by, but in a next second she had a vision that the soldier was standing in front of her in a white shirt, wiping his wet face and laughing.
And Anna pulled that unconscious unknown soldier to the medical station.
Sometime after that battle the soldier found Anna. They got married after the war. At later the vision Anna had on the battle field really happened. One morning Andrey was washing his face, looking at Anna and laughing. And he had white loose shirt too.
