a few stories 2

1.     11 .  When I got to Canada
I only knew how to say:
 Hi, my name is Irina.
 No English, no friends.
 Would it make sense?
 Then a fortune cookie
Told me to stay and try
 To follow my dream anyway.
 I believed.
I followed my dream, may be my heart.
Had no idea where I would go,
 What I would find,
 But I never looked back.
Yesterday time was not in my mind.

2.       12. I have known her since I was 10 years old.
 We have the same story,
 The same all.
 Parents that went separate ways,
 School, streets after,
 Lots of new friends.
It was our way not by the choice.
Lots of make up, tight uniforms.
We were 90th high school girls.
 She started to drink,
 I followed her
Until someone opened the first art school.
 It game me a shelter,
 It gave me a hope.
And all she did - she said "no",
Wasting of time, boring, for kids.
Now she is still on those old streets.
We were in the same class, school together for ten years,
Years after, she doesn't remember even my name.

14. I heard from a special person on special time
Something you will believe or may be just try.
Turn to the sun and close your eyes.
Look very deep inside, the deepest you can.
Ask what you deserve the most, ask well.
And trough the darkness try find brightest light.
The light will shine from inside.
In shape of a bell with open wings.
People say this is your Guardian Angel.

15.   I will finish my family working story,
Will talk a bit about my stepbrothers.
 They are both businessmen,
But first, of course, married men.
I think they would love to care more about their work, only what the wives will say again,
On the phone calling: When are you going to be at home?
Both my stepbrothers are under 100% control.
Like in army, step a side considers as running away time.
One time I was in a store with him, his wife and my father, buying a cake for their daughter,
And some girl from the counter smiled:
Thanks for driving us home last night.
We all were speechless for a minute
Probably knew where it all will be going.
 His wife smiled too:
 That's very nice.
And not a word on the way home.
Near the door, holding ten bags in each hand,
 My stepbrother whispered:
She is going to kill me now.
They had a huge fight, because he was not allowed to drive a woman in the car.
 And he didn't tell anything,
 Even bigger thing...
What he thinks she is stupid,
Letting her husband go with a woman.
Now, since they have a baby,
He is going everywhere with the baby,
Or with his daughter or son.
Never alone, who would him alone leave home.
His friends gave up on him,
Calling only when they have a reason talk about diapers or wipes,
Or have a picnic with all kids and wives.

16. I go to work to relax,
I hope its not a surprise.
I cannot be busy at work and at home,
 I had to choose,
It works well so far and since we talk about work,
 This how my relatives work.
My sister is always in thoughts about her husband.
 They are in love.
She goes to work to dream and plan dinner.
My father has a simple office, he doesn't like much stuff.
Lots of food in the fridge, he has one,
 And desk is enough.
 The most important part,
 The lock from inside.
 Before my stepbrothers got married,
They used to bring girls to my father's doctor office all the time,
After 6 o'clock when he was at home on his farm.
All the years, the nurses thought that my father was bringing different women.
Who could say anything to a doctor anyway,
 May be only his wife.
My aunt has and has a big couch at her office.
She works until its dark and she is afraid to go outside.
Shower in the sink, cookies and tea.
My mom always had opened doors,
She had 5 minutes for each patients, because then she was becoming inpatient:
Show me x-ray, everything is okay, goodbye.
What complaints, go see a physiatrist.
My grandmother had the nicest office,
She was a boss, everything new, clean, but you cannot touch.
Only for meetings, for our city leaders.
Porters of communist leaders on the walls everywhere.
My uncle had a dog at work,
His wife told she or dog would have to go.
My uncle looked at the dog first,
Then he had to live at work for about a month,
 The wife was mad.
Letter some couple liked the dog and my uncle could go home,
I think he still apologize for looking at the dog first.

17.  One more talk about women.
 When my stepbrother divorced
 He promised,
He will never go with woman again.
 Fine, go with a man.
 When I look at him,
After some hiding we all were informed by a strange girl.
 The first minute I knew,
He will not pull it off.
 Asking about food,
 House keys on the neck,
 Otherwise cannot find anywhere.
 Tooth paste on the face,
 Reading newspapers...
 Mather calling everyday:
 Are you baby okay?
 We will stop by.
He had to clean the apartment all night.
 My father laughed,
 Vitali,
There is no a married man,
Who didn't wish to be single
At least once in the life.
 Then papa mentioned:
May be we all can be one happy family.
I said: Papa, are you an idiot?
Have you, mom, your second wife
In my life at the same place, same room, same time!
 My father choked:
You are right, didn't think that far.
After a few months the new girlfriend,
 Now wife,
 Stepped in.
Of course, his mother didn't like new girl first.
 I know what she wants,
 Yes, mama, what?
 You gained some weight.
 She is cooking very well.
 Really?
Every single day, and very clean,
 Washes my clothes, buys food,
Waiting me from work with warm dinner.
 The fridge is not empty.
 May be she is okay.
So, what are you waiting for?

18.  Since we talk about our women...
 My stepbrothers,
 They both now completely brainwashed.
 First, of course their mother,
 She raised them good enough
 To push to the wife.
 That's what our goal,
 Educate enough a son,
 So he can get out,
 Not on the street,
 To another woman.
Thats when our job is done.
At 16 parents talk loud about future marriage,
 Books, magazines, money saving,
Whatever it takes to push in the right direction.
All day long, she, she, she, she are the good girls.
My stepbrothers had so many girlfriends,
 Cannot count.
Were afraid to say a word to mama and papa.
 After all,
Only the wives were allowed to walk home.
And mama was watching every step, expecting daily report,
 Driving them both insane,
 We became even friends,
Our parents problems stopped making sense.
I used to cover them up all the time.
Only if I liked the girl too.
If not, I wasn't home, sorry.
 Later the wives walked in.
 The first word was:
 I don't think so.
Don't like, good, go to your mama.
 Don't kiss me now..
 Get out.
 Mad!
Here a few tears: you don't love me.
But who would want to go to mama in right mind.
So they had to stop pretty much everything,
 Except being a good man.
Drinking, smoking, going out with friends,
 Saturday is family time,
 Look at fifty pieces dinner,
 I made it for you,
 Look home made juice,
 My favorite movie.
Fine, fine… you can have tea spoon of beer,
But I will be mad for a year.
New women wrote what they want on the paper,
Signed it, must follow.
If the bedroom where you want to go...

19. My stepbrothers don't drink, don't smoke.
 Not allowed.
Only on Christmas Eve, glass of champagne together with the family.
The older one tried to smoke in front of his first wife,
 Then fiancé.
He would prefer to hide, because she was choking and coughing, huge opened eyes:
 You are smoking?!
Of course both parents from both sides were notified immediately.
Apparently his own mother had no idea.
It was complete a crime not tell something to you mother,
 Even if out of mind.
Grandmothers informed for a good reason.
After seeing old grandma wiping tears,
Asking if she did something wrong when he was four.
After looking in mother in law mad eyes:
"How could you do this to your future wife,
 What about the children?
Do you want them be idiots.
All my friends sons stopped immediately!"
After shaking father in law' s hand:
 "Vitali, be a man".
My stepbrother knew, he will loose smoking fight.
Plus he was not allowed to smooke in the apartment,
 Not on the balcony either.
On twelve floor, not near the door.
Neighbors called to fire station a few times:
Kids want to burn our house.
 Elevator was not working,
 He had to go downstairs.
How could he leave his future wife for fifteen minutes while.
In four months no one in new future family was thinking to give up.
It was the end of smoking.

20.  Let's talk a bit about our women,
 Read today on one site,
They (mean us from our mothers country) let their men do what they want,
This why our new homes are here.
 I don't think that's very true,
I have never met anyone like this,
 May be in the mirror?
 I am smiling...
Our women one of the most controlling of all,
 But everything is so nice,
 Loving beautiful eyes,
 You are number one man.
Breakfast in bed, calories counted lunch,
 Dinner, new everyday.
 We are watching your weight.
Listening, laughing on each word you would say.
Illusion of freedom kissed many times all over your face, everywhere,
You start to believe in it.
 After all, what you get,
For doing what she wants is not a big deal any more.
 Especially nothing to do much,
 Only fully agree.

21. One time I asked old lady
 How can she help somebody
 Without really know them,
 Not being a doctor,
 Just touching hands.
She said, you see the image.
And this image comes once in a while in your mind.
 This when you, yourself smile,
Because you know you can help,
 Everything will be fine.
 You can see yourself
 At that time,
You talk to this person, smile, make laugh, give a hug.
You at home look at the sky,
Smile again, because the sky with you already.
 When the first picture gone,
 This when the person recovers.
 You start to feel happy
When you touch hand, you giving the energy,
You feel heat from the skin,
 You believe so strong,
 Nothing ever goes wrong.

22.  My girlfriend has two teenagers,
And so far they know nothing.
A file ago they lost all the books they borrowed,
 And after a home investigation,
All she could get: we don't know,
Why do you always freak out mama!
Last time were new shoes left in Mc Donald's,
A bag lost in the school bus before the classes,
 House keys wouldn't even count...

23. One time we had fireworks in my house,
 Was after New Year,
Me and a few school girlfriends,
And we burned the Christmas tree.
 The firefighters walked in,
They said never seen anything like that:
School girls dressed like hookers drinking champagne.
The boss of that rout had to talk my mother or father.
I had to call to my mom lying about a bomb.
This how she meet her new boyfriend.
