I heard people say in front of the mirror you can only be happy, look happy and say positive things, something like:"You are the best, I love you, I am healthy, I am happy..."
In the villages people didn't even look in mirror if they didn't feel well, because they they believed it brings them back what they would see.
They smiled, always, nothing negative at all. Some old lady told me, when she was young, her mother would always in the morning wash her face, brush hair, dress in something pretty (and they lived in a village) and look in the mirror and say how beautiful she is, play around a bit, then dress in work clothes and go to a farm.
